A Lyon kitchen.
A St. Louis soul.

Executive Chef Laurent Moreau brings 20 years of French bistro tradition to the heart of Soulard. Born in Lyon and trained under Michelin-starred chefs in Paris and New York, Laurent opened Soulard Brasserie in 2018 with a simple mission: classic French technique, Missouri ingredients, no compromises.

Every dish is made from scratch. The butter comes from a small farm in Hermann, MO. The bread is baked in-house daily. The wine list was built over three years of personal travel through Burgundy, Loire, and Alsace.

"The sole meunière was transcendent. Best French food I've had outside of Paris. We drove from Kansas City specifically for this meal — worth every mile."

"Celebrated our anniversary here for the second year running. Chef Laurent came out to chat, the sommelier's pairings were perfect, and the tarte tatin is life-changing."

"The French onion soup alone is worth the trip. Brunch is equally spectacular — get the croque madame. We've been four times this year."

Common Questions

Do you accept large party reservations? +
Yes — we accommodate parties up to 20 in our main dining room and up to 40 in our private dining space. For parties of 8 or more, please call us directly at (314) 555-0180 rather than using the online form. A credit card may be required to hold large reservations.
Can you accommodate dietary restrictions? +
Absolutely. We accommodate vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and most allergy-related requests with advance notice. Please note your dietary needs when reserving and our kitchen will prepare a suitable menu. For severe allergies, please call ahead so we can take extra precautions.
Is there parking nearby? +
Street parking is available throughout the Soulard neighborhood, typically free on weeknights. We recommend the lot at 8th & Barton for weekend evenings — it's a 2-minute walk. Valet service is available on Friday and Saturday evenings starting at 6 PM for $8.
Do you offer private dining for events? +
Yes — our private dining room seats up to 40 guests and is available for corporate dinners, rehearsal dinners, birthday celebrations, and private events. We offer custom prix fixe menus with wine pairings. Contact events@soulard-demo.com for availability and pricing.
What's the dress code? +
Smart casual — we want you to feel comfortable and at home. No formal dress code required, but we do ask guests to avoid athletic wear and flip-flops in the main dining room. Our bar area is more casual for walk-ins.
